Asian Style Salmon Crudo

Here’s a super easy and impressive raw fish dish you can make at home. All you need is fresh sashimi grade salmon from the market and a few delicious ingredients to make a flavorful starter that will draw oohs and ahhs from house guests.

Asian Style Salmon Crudo

Ingredients: Serves 2
1/2 lb sashimi grade salmon (sliced thinly)
2 tsp sesame oil (one tsp for marinating and one tsp for drizzling to decorate the plate)
1.5 tsp yuzu or lemon juice
1/2 tsp minced garlic
2 pinches of truffle salt
1 pinch of black pepper
pinch of sea salt
3 slices of pickled cucumbers (I bought the ume flavored pickles which has a sweet plum hint to it)
1 tsp soy sauce for drizzling on the plate
1 tsp chia seeds for garnish
fried cranberries for garnish

Method:
1. Slice the salmon and marinate with 1 tsp sesame oil, yuzu, minced garlic, truffle salt, black pepper, pinch of salt by tossing everything together.
2. After you’ve tossed the salmon in the dressing, plate immediately
3. Garnish with dried cranberries, then alternate the pickle garnishes on each salmon slice
4. Sprinkle with chia seeds and drizzle with sesame oil and soy.
5. Optional, I also used some of the ume pickle juice to help garnish the plate.
