I’m a Sucker For Cheese
I recently went to Healdsburg and did some wine tasting around Downtown Healdsburg and ended up at this great Tasting Room that did cheese and wine pairings. I loved the pairing so much I ended up getting the jam they served the cheese on since they sold it in their Tasting Room. I’m a huge sucker for cheese. Back in the day, I would have cheese, crackers, and some salumi with port for lunch and that would make a great satisfying meal in itself. You really don’t need anything else. However, excessive amounts of cheese or anything is not such a good thing, especially for a woman in her 30’s trying to stay lean and fit for the rest of her life. So everything in moderation. Anyhow, back to Healdsburg and this amazing cheese jam combo. At Williamson Tasting Room, I discovered Balsamic Garlic Herb Jam. OH MY GOODNESS, the sweet but slightly savory hint of garlic and herb from the jam paired with the sharp and hard cheddar cheese was literally a heavenly piece of morsel. One bite and it makes you want to say bad words to express how good it is.
I finally pulled it out last night and made a few small bites to nibble on. Not much, just a few and maybe I’ll also pop open the wine I got from there next time as well. Life’s good when you discover amazing food finds isn’t it? 🙂
IF you are ever in downtown Healdsburg, do go visit Williamson Tasting Room and check out their wine and cheese pairing. You won’t regret it.
