Taco Night!

Since I had to work on Cinco de Mayo, I decided to celebrate the next day by hosting Taco Night for a few friends. It was nothing complicated or fancy. I made soft tacos and and hard tacos and did it family style so people could build their own.

1. Carne Asada Steak Tacos, Soft corn tortilla with pico de gallo and pickled radish
2. Turkey and Spicy Chorizo Tacos, Hard corn tortillas topped with cheese, lettuce, sour cream and pico de gallo
3. Homemade Guacamole
4. Home made pico de gallo
5. Chips

Carne Asada Steak (Serves 4)

-2 lbs top sirloin
-taco seasoning (1 bag)
-juice of 2 limes
-2 tablespoon soy sauce
-1 tablespoon garlic powder
(Marinate your steak overnight)

1. Heat up your grill or skillet to high and place your steak on it.
2. Pan Sear your steak and let it cook until medium rare.
3. Place it on a cutting board and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing so the juice does not get released.

4. Slice one steak into slices and plate on one side of the serving platter.

5. Dice the other steak and put it back on the skillet with some olive oil and brown the cubes until charred on the edges.
6. Plate the cubed steak and serve side by side to the sliced medium rare steak.

(This presentation offers two version of carne asada steak)

Optional Garnish: Pickled Radish (sliced radish, lime juice, sugar, and salt, pepper, and a dash of sesame oil)–Eat with your soft carne asada tacos
