Here’s the table setting I put together for the Valentine’s Day which is really simple and Asian inspired since the menu I created was Asian Fusion.
Rather than using the typical chargers and plates I used a Japanese laquered tray as my charger or “placemat” and used a nice japanese plate as my serving plate. Rather than wine you can serve sake and use sake glasses to further the Asian Theme. I did however use a fancier water glass rather than a tumbler to make it look a little more formal. I also used the remainder of the pink flowers and leaves to decorate the setting. These little additions don’t cost anything and can jazz up the setting that much more.
The arrangements I made for the table earlier that day.
Valentine’s Day Menu:
1. Tuna Tartare tossed with fuji apples, chives, toasted sesame seeds, served with taro chips
2. Surf and Turf, Grilled Boneless shortrib and Diver Scallops, served with a chili raspberry cabernet jam.
3. Braised Shortrib served over stewed Baby Shitake and Asian Pear Orzo
4. Strawberry Sundae, strawberries topped with dulce de leche, whip cream, chocolate fudge, and almonds.
Stay tuned for the recipes!
